A Place for the wanderer
Have a seat at the table. God saved a place just for you.
Here at Parchment and Prayer, we believe that forgiveness is a gift that belongs to each and every person. As Christians, we acknowledge that we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, making us equal in our need for grace. As you explore this site, you may notice a commitment to extreme honesty, as I believe that shame belongs to the enemy. I will not hide from my experiences—every success and every failure serves as a testament to the glory of God. Some of my greatest joy has emerged from what initially felt like my biggest failures. Together, we will grow in faith and inspiration, walking in the light.

To bring Jesus to the people through example, information, charity, support, or any other way Jesus might be needed at that time. We believe fiercely in fully non-discriminatory, blind charity. In this way we choose to reflect the model of the Lord's grace and forgiveness.
The chirping birds. That’s what I’m grateful for right now. Chirping birds often cause me to pause and listen. I get tangled up in their brilliant symphony. Spring has come and I can hear many chirping birds from my window. This is also something I am grateful for.
Birds have always been representative of grace. To see a bird in flight is a reason to pause. It is a thing that shouldn’t be overlooked. Have you ever considered the life of a bird?
“Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” – Matthew 6:26
Look at the birds of the air… I was driving through these foothills in the middle of nowhere in the mountains one day and the most beautiful bird flew right in front of my car. I slowed to catch a look. He was the most brilliant blue. I couldn’t get a picture as I was driving but I had my sister look into what kind of bird it was and that is the image I have shared with you.
Little moments like that feel like gifts to me. Things like getting a great parking spot at Walmart or my favorite song coming on K-Love right as I get into my car. These tiny little wins have become so important to me. They remind me that God cares even about my smallest moments, like He does even the smallest birds.
So, the next time you feel anxious or worried or frustrated with what life is offering you, just look at the birds of the air. And remember, He is always holding you in His mighty hands.
